WHAT CHANGES
What Adopting Carbotura Changes
A plain-language tour of how a 30-year ACM commitment changes a community’s fiscal position, employment, and material system. Generic illustrative figures.

Planning basis: Carbotura standard parameters against VERIFIED Brisbane City Council and Queensland Government figures. Fee range A$142–213/t (US$100–150 at the RBA rate of 30 October 2026 (A$1 = US$0.7040)); tables modelled at the A$142.05 floor. Phase Initial is sized against the ~250,000 t/yr Brisbane Landfill receives. The comparator is the Queensland levy alone, a floor on the cost of landfilling a tonne: the Council’s own landfill cost is not published and the State’s levy offset arrangements for household material are not asserted. No site has been identified. Carbotura has no facility at or past Commercial Operation Date; the first is in Pennsylvania, USA, in deployment, with commercial operation targeted for late 2027 to early 2028.
